Gatsby, the movie, is out in theaters this Friday! The Gatsby style is becoming extremely popular in the wedding market, so check out this Gatsby inspired cake that we just LOVE! We love all of the details...the gold icing, rhinestone accents, and not to mention the pearls! Beautiful! We also love the signs on the couples' chairs!

This week we're focusing on the Groom...is your Groom a baseball fan? This Groom is a huge Boston fan, so this cake was a great surprise for him! This cake represents his love of the sport, and the team...it's bright and colorful, and delicious too! Are you surprising your Groom with a special cake?

We absolutely LOVE these bright pink and orange flowers that this couple displayed in teal mason jars! This combination of colors is being seen more and more often in recent weddings, as brides and grooms try to add pops of color to their wedding decor. Bright, colorful and fun color combinations have become the new trend not only in fashion, but in the wedding industry as well! What pops of color will you be using for your special day?

Are you a Bride or Groom with a sweet tooth for a special treat? This couple just LOVES their Rice Krispie Treats, so instead of a traditional icing on their cake, they covered theirs in sheets of the treats! The simple fruit garnish and lavender "ribbon" ensure that the Krispie Treats stand out as the star of the show!

Earth Day is coming up on Monday, so to recognize this eco-friendly day, check out these "green" wedding favors! These adorable favors double as guest place cards! The ceramic pots are filled with different sprouting herbs, and have a flag noting the guest's name and assigned table number. What "green" touches will you be adding to your special day?

Treat Tuesday: Delicious Dress!

 

Our Bride knew exactly what she wanted her wedding cake to look like. The cake designer was extremely detailed and followed the photos she was given incredibly! The bride had seen a similar cake in a wedding magazine, and wanted to use the same idea for hers...the cake was an exact replica of her wedding gown! The cake designer did a great job with all of the small details, such as the ruffles, swags and rhinestone brooches. It was also the Bride's birthday, so her family surprised her with a smaller cake in the couple's colors, blue and white, and all of the guests sang "Happy Birthday!"

Treat Tuesday: Rachel & Matt's Sweets & Treats!

Rachel & Matt had a modern and elegant wedding cake that was accented with silver ribbons and white roses...it was a beautful focal point placed directly behind the Sweetheart Table, with pink and purple rose petals and glowing candles surrounding the cake. The Bride & Groom each received an individual mini cake of their own!

    

The sweets & treats didn't stop there! As a special thank you to their guests, Rachel and Matt had a display with homemade cookies and treats made from their families' recipes. Treat bags were placed on each end of the table, to allow guests to fill a bag to take home with them. In addition to the cookie bar, there was a cupcake table to add to the sweetness! The guests absolutely loved the creative touches the couple added to their wedding day!

Floral Friday: Spring Pastels!

With the Easter holiday approaching, we're focusing on pretty pastels and spring colors! We love this centerpiece with shades of peaches and pinks and soft mint-green leaves! The simple and elegant white vase adds a fresh touch to this beautiful spring arrangement!

Floral Friday: Black Magic Roses

Black Magic roses were used throughout Natalie & John's wedding ceremony and reception. The Bride's bouquet was full of these deep, dark red roses and was accented with crystals. Red rose petals lined the ceremony aisle, and two large arrangements were placed at the altar, which added a pop of color to the room. Once in the reception, guests were seated at tables draped in black satin linen, with a tall centerpiece of Black Magic roses placed at the center of each. Even the couple's cake was topped with an arrangement of these beautiful flowers!

Treat Tuesday: A "LOVE-ly" Dessert Bar

What's more lovely than a colorful dessert bar offering a variety of sweets and treats to wedding guests? Dessert and candy bars are a great idea to add a little fun to your reception. Mix and match glass and ceramic platters, jars and vases to create differing heights and an eye-catching display! Tie the candy bar into your favors by placing to-go bags for your guests to fill and take home with them! We love these which we found on Etsy.

It's St. Patty's Day weekend, so today's floral Friday is all about good luck and the color green! This bouquet is a mix of beautiful flowers in varying shades of green and ivory, topped off with a gold wire four-leaf clover! What special accents will you be using for your big day?

Floral Friday: Something Blue

This Bride had a passion for the color blue. The Bridesmaids dresses were blue, the centerpieces were blue, and even her shoes were blue! This beautiful bouquet from Windermere Flowers & Gifts featured soft white roses accented with beautiful blue hydrangea and tied with a white sheer ribbon. This bouquet was simple and pretty, with just a little "something blue!"

Treat Tuesday: Pink Ombré Cake

Ombré is a hot new trend that's shown beautifully in this pink multi-layered rosette cake! We've seen this look popping up in quite a few cakes recently, but found this one to be so pretty! Layers and rosettes gradually darken from a very pale pink to a deeper shade of rose, creating a look that is soft and elegant. 

Floral Friday: Lavender Love

 

Rachel and Matthew filled their November wedding with touches of lavender and purple.  Lavender roses made up the Bride's bouquet, the Groom's boutonniere, and the Bride's hair accessory. Their ceremony aisle was lined in lavender rose petals. The ballroom featured tall and low centerpieces made up of lavender, pink and white roses accented with glowing candles, and the pewter textured walls were all uplight in purple lighting. Floral Friday: Glowing Cocktail Centerpieces

This Bride & Groom wanted to add an elegant glow to their cocktail hour tables, so their black-linen draped tables were accented with 3 square vases in 3 different heights, each filled with peach rose petals and a floating ivory candle. These simple centerpieces added a pop of color, and the romantic glow they were looking for!

The past couple of years, we've seen more and more brides ditching the traditional white or ivory bridal shoes, and going for something a little more fun! Brides who are looking to add a pop of color to their wedding day look have been turning to their accessories...from blue, to purple, to gold glittery heels!

Treat Tuesday: Black Magic Cake

This was one of our couples' unique cakes, which tied in with their wedding colors of red, black and silver. The cake was red velvet with a cream cheese filling. Two layers were covered in black fondant, the other two layers were covered in white fondant with hand-piped black detailing. This beautiful cake was topped with an arrangement of Black Magic Roses, which were also found in the Bride's bouquet and table centerpieces.

Rachelle & Donald...Married!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rachelle & Donald were introduced by a friend last December, and knew within a few short months that they were meant for each other. Donald proposed over the phone, as he was overseas at the time, and they were married on September 16, 2012!

 

Rachelle knew exactly what she wanted for her dream wedding, and she handled all of the centerpieces, favors and small touches herself, and ordered many of the items from the Knot Shop. Rachelle & Donald's wedding was infused with touches of blue, which were seen in her bouquet and sapphire blue shoes, throughout the ceremony and reception, and even the dress their dog Skye wore to the reception! Skye was a very important part of their wedding, and she was a great bridesmaid! The couple's wedding cake was designed to match Rachelle's wedding gown, and there was a second cake which was a surprise for the Bride's birthday. Another great surprise was the belly dance performance, a birthday surprise for the Maid of Honor, Rachelle's sister. Immediately following the reception, the couple left for the airport to board a plane to Thailand for their honeymoon!

This stunning bouquet was an arrangement of Picasso Calla Lillies surrounded by dark purple Calla Lillies. The bouquet was wrapped in ivory silk ribbon, and was accented by black feathers and crystals placed in the center of each dark purple Calla Lilly.
